The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide support as a Manager, SK Craft Alcohol Program within the Product Management and Supplier Relations branch for 12 months.

This position is required to work on-site.

This role is responsible for overseeing SLGA’s Saskatchewan Craft Alcohol Program, which generates approximately $3.5 million in annual revenue for the government. This role provides industry expertise, innovative solutions, and analytical support to the SK Craft Alcohol group. The Manager proactively develops and implements strategies and programs, aligning internal and external partners to advance key business drivers and achieve performance indicators such as customer and partner satisfaction, operational efficiency, and revenue growth. Saskatchewan craft alcohol producers will view the Manager as a thought leader on market trends and business opportunities, and as a strong advocate for the success of Saskatchewan craft liquor within the entire liquor system.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Build, foster, and maintain collaborative relationships by regularly seeking insight and input from Saskatchewan craft alcohol producers. When necessary, engage in difficult conversations while preserving relationships and working toward alignment between producers and SLGA.
  • Manage production reporting from Saskatchewan craft alcohol producers, including the collection and verification of monthly reporting, data analysis, reporting of results, overseeing billing and payment collection, and ensuring program goals align with the broader objectives of the liquor system.
  • Lead and manage the team to ensure accurate data entry, timely completion of tasks, and resolution of obstacles. Set clear expectations and oversee goal achievement.
  • Develop deep knowledge of trends within the liquor environment.
  • Act as a consultative partner by engaging the Saskatchewan craft alcohol community to proactively address market trends and opportunities.
  • Write and provide content for a weekly email to Saskatchewan craft alcohol producers to keep them informed about items related to SLGA and the Saskatchewan liquor market.
  • Design and implement innovative marketing and support programs for Saskatchewan craft alcohol producers, securing their buy-in and participation. Continuously evolve programs based on successes and lessons learned.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry peers, internal clients and partners, leveraging these connections to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Communicate effectively using superior oral and written skills, with a confident yet diplomatic approach to promote new business opportunities and transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and implement tracking and reporting systems to monitor program success and ensure activities support key performance indicators.
  • Drive automation of submission and reporting processes.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on all aspects of the Saskatchewan craft liquor program, informed by analysis, trend monitoring, and inter-jurisdictional comparisons. Topics may include regulatory and policy changes, legislative updates, operational improvements, and business development opportunities.
  • Develop and write policies for Saskatchewan craft liquor producers, considering trends, implications, public impact, and safety risks. Policies should support fair public policy and social responsibility.
  • Prepare and coordinate various documents, correspondence, reports, and analyses in response to inquiries from SLGA executives, Ministers, Freedom of Information requests, and media.
  • Represent SLGA at forums, interest group meetings, and stakeholder committees to enhance corporate understanding of the liquor industry and educate the public, interest groups, and stakeholders about SLGA policies.

Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in public policy, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Three to five years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on stakeholder engagement and service excellence.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to translate findings into actionable solutions and recommendations that support organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory issues and their implications within a business environment.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic environments and actively leads change to support organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, influence, and collaborate across diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work efficiently under strict deadlines and frequent interruptions, while managing a high volume of tasks and projects.
  • Proficient knowledge of Word and Excel.

Travel Requirement
This position may require travel throughout the province with occasional overnight stays.

Working Conditions
Core office hours are 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday to Friday. The majority of the work day is spent sitting at a desk keyboarding. The Manager, SK Craft Alcohol Program, must demonstrate their commitment to safety by consistently ensuring the well-being of themselves and others in the workplace.
