The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide support as a Product Coordinator within the Product Management and Supplier Relations Branch.

This position is required to work on-site, reporting to the Manager, Products & Supplier Relations.

The Product Coordinator supports the operation of the wholesale liquor supply chain, working with and coordinating information between internal SLGA branches, as well as external partners (including vendors, private distributors, and third-party distributors). The Product Coordinator manages a database of products, pricing, vendors, and other information related to wholesale liquor; enforces SLGA’s product and pricing policies; manages a shared email box; creates recurring and ad hoc reports; and works within and meets recurring deadlines. The Product Coordinator is the expert on, and first point of contact for, current pricing policies and operating procedures related to and for use within the Category Management and Pricing team.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Populate and manage a database of information related to products, pricing, and vendors.
  • Communicate with both external and internal customers, including partners and various SLGA branches, serving as the first-point of contact for product, pricing, and listing related inquiries.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of data related to product listings and pricing information, working with external partners such as suppliers, third-party distributors, and private distributors to address issues as required.
  • Collect and maintain accurate and up-to-date information related to the small-producer production declarations.
  • Interpret and apply pricing policies related to SLGA-distributed products, free-trade agreements and duty-free stores.
  • Advise and influence partners and various SLGA branches to obtain required information meet deadlines.
  • Prepare recurring reports, such as new products and price changes, and distribute to partners and various SLGA branches. Prepare ad hoc reports upon request.
  • Work with internal and external business units to solve issues. 
  • Educate partners about established product and pricing policies and available tools.
  • Confirm and grant partners’ access to the LION reporting system; answer questions and assist partners on using LION. 
  • Maintain the product section of SLGA’s website including compiling and editing photos, preparing product information and updating content to ensure that product information is accurate and relevant. 
  • Implement applicable price changes initiated by changes to government regulation and a General Price Increase.
  • Contribute to system updates, upgrades, and changes by providing requirements, and testing system and process changes.
  • Answer questions and troubleshoot issues originating from partners and various SLGA branches, such as disputed charges, data errors, and listing and purchasing timelines.
  • Work with SLGA Financial Service Branch to ensure accurate billing and contact information; investigate as required to ensure accurate information.
  • Make recommendations and implement process improvements, rule exceptions, solutions to problems, and other changes to make SLGA more effective.
Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of all current pricing policies, key product characteristics, and operating procedures.
  • Experience working with an industry recognized Warehouse Management System. 
  • In-depth knowledge of and ability to advise on and apply current SLGA Pricing Policies.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply applicable free-trade agreements, and pricing policies related to duty-free stores.
  • In-depth knowledge of the key characteristics of beverage alcohol products, including an ability to complete established procedures across all product categories. 
  • General knowledge of applicable SLGA wholesale policies and current Supplier Manual.
  • General knowledge of The Alcohol Control Regulations.
  • General knowledge of Federal and Provincial legislation related to beverage alcohol.
  • General knowledge of accounting principles; understanding of how applicable costs including excise, freight, duty, and cost of service impact price; and an understanding of how currency fluctuations impact price.
  • Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations to confirm and test pricing changes.
  • Ability to input, edit, retrieve, maintain, and format data using spreadsheet and database software.
Working Conditions
Core office hours are 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday to Friday. This role is primarily desk-based, with most of the work day dedicated to computer use, including keyboarding, data analysis, and system navigation.
