The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide support as a Charitable Grant Analyst within the Client Services Branch.
This position is required to work on-site.
Summary
The Charitable Grant Analyst is primarily responsible for the financial review, analysis and approval pertaining to the eligibility of charitable gaming licences for the Charitable Gaming Grant Program. This position will also identify and analyze trends in the charitable gaming industry, making recommendations on needed industry initiatives and changes to terms and conditions and policy. The Charitable Grant Analyst will also be responsible for assisting in the development and ongoing delivery of an education program designed for the training of charitable organizations, bingo associations, gaming employees, other government organizations and SLGA staff in all areas of charitable gaming.

Primary Responsibilities
• Critically review and analyze submitted charitable gaming statements and financial reports, with close attention to detail.
• Thoroughly analyze supplemental documentation, including bank statements, to verify accuracy and compliance with the financial report.
• Provide detailed analysis and first level of approval for all proposed Charitable Gaming Grant Program payments.
• Identify and research trends within the Charitable Gaming Grant Program.
• Anticipate and identify trends in the charitable gaming industry.
• Work with and interpret legislation, including The Criminal Code of Canada, and the Terms and Conditions for Bingo, Breakopens, Raffles, Texas Hold’em Poker, and Monte Carlo events.
• As assigned, organize and participate in industry consultations and, from those consultations, assist in the development of terms and conditions and policy.
• Analyze and summarize financial and statistical data provided by the provincial charitable gaming industry.
• Identify areas of opportunity for training and as assigned, develop and deliver education programs to charitable organizations, bingo associations, gaming employees, government organizations and SLGA staff in all areas of licensing and charitable gaming.
• Participate in the development and testing of system applications for tracking and verifying financial and statistical data related to charitable gaming in Saskatchewan.
• Cultivate and maintain key relationships with industry stakeholders and other jurisdictions.
Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
• A degree or diploma in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline supplemented by two (2) years of progressive financial experience.
• Ability to provide in-depth analysis on financial and statistical data relevant to the charitable gaming industry and the Charitable Gaming Grant Program.
• Ability to understand and adapt to the various issues and concerns within the Charitable Gaming Grant program.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver formal and informal education and training programs at various client levels.
• Superior oral and written communication skills, along with the proven ability to work effectively with a large and diverse group of stakeholders.
• Ability to utilize word processing, database, spreadsheet, communications and other software with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to handle a high-volume workload, with pressures coming from external and internal stakeholder demands, while meeting established timelines taking into consideration resource limitations, organizational objectives/goals, and frequent interruptions to schedule.
Licensing Requirement
This position is required to obtain and maintain an SLGA Gaming Regulator Certificate of Registration.
Travel Requirement
This position may require occasional travel, including overnight stays, as needed.
Working Conditions
Core office hours are 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday to Friday, with earned days off taken at their own discretion excluding statutory holidays such as New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Remembrance Day and Christmas Day. The majority of the work day is spent sitting at a desk keyboarding.
